MelanesiaWidespread Indonesia to Philippines. Shallow coastal reef crests and slopes with rich soft-coral growth. Occurs in small loose groups . Males are recognised by their orange-brown head and the blue lines that run chain-like along the body. Juveniles and females have an orange to yellow anal fin. The snout is more pointed compared to similar species. Length to 14cm.
